Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

Inspect installation sites, study work orders, building plans and manuals to determine requirements prior to installation to determine best course of installing materials and equipment. Properly run and hang wires, cables, conduit and raceways to bicsi standards. Drill access holes, run lines thru attics, crawl spaces  and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets. Position and terminate cables, wires and equipment. Ability to troubleshoot system and correct issues. Has a basic understanding of networking, IPV4 and how to assign a computer an IP address. Install, maintain, repair security alarms, cameras and access controls
systems.

Preventative maintenance; test backup batteries, keypad programming, sirens, and all security features in order to ensure proper functioning, and to diagnose malfunctions. Keep informed of new products and developments. Request orders for replacement parts. Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed. Extensive travel may be required for this position.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to learn via classroom and on the job how to properly install, configure all of the systems. This position requires periodic drug testing, a valid driver’s license, US citizen or valid work visa, employment is based on the above and a satisfactory background check.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
We will train all new hires on our systems. Experience is preferred in this or a related field (IT) but is not a requirement.

SUPERVISION
Position reports directly to the Project Superintendent and is under his/her general direction.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
English, communicates effectively in both oral and written communications. Communicates with supervisor, peers, subordinates and other Company staff; working as part of a team contributing to Company goals.

REASONING ABILITY
Job requires being careful about detail and thoroughness in completing work tasks. Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw conclusions drawing upon experience, research and input from peers. This position performs multiple job tasks on a daily basis. Discuss unusual or complex problems encountered to the Project Superintendent for input and/or direction.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position requires lifting up to 50 pounds and frequent prolonged periods of standing, bending, pulling, twisting, reaching, climbing and standing.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this position; the employee may be exposed to weather conditions from 100 degrees to below 0 degrees and exposed to various climates and conditions. Wearing of safety clothing and equipment may at times be required.
